Career

Dennis Allen graduated from Pennsville Memorial High School in 1987. After graduation he moved to Florida to train as a wrestler. This did not pan out and Allen had to move back to Cherry Hill, NJ in December 1987, where he took a job as a transit-man for a Survey Company. While working in Deptford, NJ, Allen saw a WWA Flyer promoting wrestling at the Woodbury National Guard Armory. He attend the show and found out the show was booked by "Pretty Boy" Larry Sharpe, who also ran the Monster Factory. In October 1988 Allen went to the Monster Factory in Paulsboro, New Jersey for an open tryout. Waiting through 27 prospective wrestlers, Allen spoke to Sharpe and explained that he had trained in Florida but had to move back to New Jersey. Sharpe gave Allen a tryout match against Anthony Durante (a.k.a Pitbull #2). After the match, Sharpe offered Allen a match. Allen accepted and found out the match was just 3 days later against veteran Larry Winters. Allen was given the gimmick of Dennis Condrey, Jr. (a reference to wrestler Dennis Condrey, best known as a member of The Midnight Express and began training at the Monster Factory while wrestling for Sharpe's WWA promotion.

Career 1988 to 1990

In addition to wrestling for WWA, Dennis also wrestled for several independent promotions, such as: ICW, USWA (Bob Raskin), USA (Rob Russin) and the PCW (Jimmy Deo). His wrestling schedule had him wrestling shows from Maine to Maryland. Allen also picked up a job as Ring Crew Leader (of the Northeast) for WCW (a.k.a NWA). This job required him to deliver the ring and set it up for shows. It also gave him a chance to wrestle whenever there was a vacancy. In 1988, Dennis got his chance to work with the WWF as a jobber. Dennis attended 28 total TV tapings and house shows and wrestled 20 matches. During these years Dennis manage to wrestle some of the sport's best, such as: Barry Windham, Kendall Windham, Owen Hart, Brian Pillman, Jake Roberts, Brutus Beekcake (Edward Leslie), Akeem (a.k.a One Man Gang), Kevin Sullivan, Buzz Sawyer, The Dragon Master, The Bushwhackers, Sycho Sid, Bad News Allen, Larry Cameron, Trucker Norm, The Samoan Swat Team and Manny Fernandez.

Florida Independents 1990-2004

In October 1990 Allen moved to Florida. Upon his arrival, he immediately started wrestling for the locally based TCWA. This is where his feud with Cliff Anderson (a.k.a Cliff Sheats) began. Allen and Anderson wrestled each other all over the state. Florida proved to be a great fit for Allen, and this is where he became Dirty Dennis Allen. Allen wrestled for countless independent promotions, including the IWF, FWF, FWA, FOW, CCW, and IPW. Between 1993 & 1996 Allen also formed a tag team with "Classy" Chris Nelson known as The Hitmen. From 1996 to 1998 Allen another partner in "Stretcher" Chris Michaels and form the Thrillseekers. In 1999, Allen signed with the FOW & FWA as a singles wrestler. Later that year, he won the FWA Heavyweight Title, FSPWA Hardcore Title, and FOW World Title, holding all 3 titles at the same time. After losing the FWA Title to Hack Meyers, Allen quickly replaced it by defeating the giant Cyborg for the FPW Title. Allen also began a feud with Billy Fives that would see the two wrestlers battle for three years in various specialty matches. Late in 2001, Allen formed yet another tag team, joining up with "Sycho" Sean Allen to form Suicidal Tendencies. Dennis and Sean teamed together until 2004, holding a number of independent tag team titles along the way including The F.O.W. six man Tag Team titles teaming up with Sean Allen and his own 8 year old Son Dynamite Derek Allen. In October 2004, Dennis reunited with Chris Nelson and brought back The Hitmen 2000. The Hitmen won the FWA Tag Team Titles and held them until the promotion's end in 2005.

On February 1, 2007, Dennis Allen announced his retirement from the ring due to injuries suffered to his right knee. On February 13, 2007, Allen underwent Total Knee Replacement Surgery.
